U.S. Navy commander now investigated for exposing ‘unconstitutional and illegal actions by military leadership’ during COVID-shot mandates

By J.M. Phelps  |  WorldNet Daily

One of the U.S. military’s most high-profile and respected whistleblowers, active-duty Navy Commander Robert A. Green, Jr., says his chain of command has informed him that he is, as of July 8, “under investigation for publicly calling out the unconstitutional and illegal actions by military leadership during the COVID-19 mandates.”

He made the announcement in an X post the following day:

“I was informed yesterday that my Chain of Command placed me under investigation for publicly calling out the unconstitutional and illegal actions by military leadership during the COVID-19 mandates.

I am saddened by this news, but not surprised.

For 4 years I have been using the same language and the same demand for accountability that I continue to use on this platform.

I started with internal filings to my leadership that were systematically ignored.

I then turned to Congress and filed whistleblower complaints that were ignored by all but a few courageous members of Congress.

Having been ignored by both the executive and legislative branches of government, I turned to the judicial branch and wrote the key declaration in the Navy Seals lawsuit that provided the critical evidence required to help them win a class wide injunction. This injunction halted the unlawful discharges for all Navy sailors with a religious accommodation.

Despite definitive legal proof that military leaders broke the law and violated constitutional rights, (and a subsequent public acknowledgment of this by @SecDef), there has been no accountability.

My public appeals through this platform and my other public works are meant as an appeal to the highest human authority in the land: We The People, because all other authorities are either the perpetrators themselves or they are not enforcing the accountability and restoration @POTUS demanded.

I wrote a book about the entire affair to make sure that this unlawful activity, and the harms it caused, were not forgotten to history.

My leadership does not like that I have used the words “domestic enemies of the Constitution” to describe many of them for their actions during the mandates.

But where were they when thousands of us notified them about the laws they were breaking?

Where were they when I published my book about their actions two years ago?

Everything I am saying now I have been saying for years.

The book is literally titled Defending the Constitution Behind Enemy Lines.

I was not stationed on some foreign frontier during the mandates. No, I was stationed right here in the United States. What enemy lines do they think I was talking about?

There is a clear line drawn between service members who will defend the Constitution, and Admirals & Generals who violate constitutional rights with impunity.

Many of them Admirals, Generals, SES leaders, and their legal advisors seem to be doing everything in their power to undermine President Trump’s promises of accountability and his executive orders for restoration.

Instead of spending resources to bring in whistleblowers like me to fix these problems and hold true accountability, our leaders are spending resources hunting whistleblowers down and undermining reinstatement and back pay processes.

The typical conclusion for a politicized whistleblower reprisal-type of investigation like this one, is a Board of Inquiry and an unlawful Involuntary Separation.

We have seen it all before. My family has been through too much to have to go through all of this again.

Yes, it would be much easier to just shut up and let those who have committed criminal acts get away with it.

But I have a higher obligation to both the Truth and to my Oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, be they foreign adversaries or domestic violators of constitutional rights.

My offer stands to help leadership truly fix these problems. But it appears that they would rather see me punished by the process.”

“For 4 years I have been using the same language and the same demand for accountability that I continue to use on this platform,” posted Green.

“My leadership does not like that I have used the words ‘domestic enemies of the Constitution’ to describe many of them for their actions during the mandates. But where were they when thousands of us notified them about the laws they were breaking?” He added: “There is a clear line drawn between service members who will defend the Constitution, and Admirals & Generals who violate constitutional rights with impunity.”

Former service members are reacting strongly, clearly disturbed by the news. WorldNetDaily spoke to one such individual, Dr. Chase Spears, a retired U.S. Army public affairs officer.

When Green published his book, “Defending the Constitution behind Enemy Lines,” in July 2023, Spears quickly took notice. Having been a writer himself while serving in the Army and knowing the challenges that come with a hostile chain of command, he admired Green’s “direct approach.”

“That guy has a spine like no one I’ve ever seen in the military in my lifetime,” Spears remembers thinking. As fate would have it, two years later, Spears was able to welcome Green to his podcast, “Finding Your Spine.”

With news of a formal military probe into Commander Green’s public statements regarding the illegalities of the now-rescinded COVID-19 military shot mandate, Spears told WND he is “surprised to see him investigated now.”

He explained, “It surprised me that he was not being investigated in the past while we were under a very hostile [Biden] administration when he wrote his book, and when he began pointing out the law-breaking and widespread rampant corruption in the military.”

“From what I can tell, he has not changed, remaining consistent in making the argument that the military continues to violate law, to violate due process and to violate the Constitution,” Spears said, adding, “He’s now doing this under an administration that knows the reality of rampant progressivism in the ranks.”

So why is Green being investigated at this time?

“Ever since the Trump administration came in and Secretary of Defense Hegseth took the helm at the Pentagon,” said Spears, “life hasn’t gotten easier for conservatives.”

To the contrary, he said, “it has gotten harder because progressively minded officers who were raised under the Obama and Biden administration are insecure about the fact there’s a new sheriff in town and they’re clamping down even harder on those who hold a basic constitutional, traditional worldview.”

“From what I have seen, the arguments Commander Green shares are not partisan, nor in violation of the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) or Defense Department regulations against political expression by service members,” Spears pointed out.

“He’s simply calling out where the admirals and other senior military commanders continue to violate the law, due process and the very Constitution which they swore to uphold and defend.”

For Spears, “It’s another indicator of the fact that the military has lost its way and its purpose of actual national defense when it is focused on these witch hunts against people in the ranks who swear by these principles, and swear to this document we call the Constitution.”

“There’s a [Commander Green] in every generation and in every cause,” he asserted. “There’s a key leader who rises to the top, whether it be for a noble cause or an ignoble cause.”

Green has been “one person service members and veterans have been able to rally behind because of his courage and the courage he draws out of other people,” said Spears.

For example, Green “spearheaded” the Declaration of Military Accountability, which was signed by 231 service members and veterans in January 2024 to seek accountability for the wrongs imposed upon them by the tyrannically enforced COVID-19 shot mandate.

In light of the investigation against Green, Spears, a signatory of the declaration, said, “Now is the time for other constitutionally minded military members to stand up with him.” He challenges them, asking, “Will you be courageous, or will you be cowardly?”

“Many fellow military members may beat their chests with all this bravado about being a warrior and never leaving another comrade behind. So if this is true, it’s past time to really man up,” Spears told WND.

“Hold true to your oaths now or sit down forever among those across history who did nothing when the moment called.”

“If you’re not willing to call fouls against clear legal and moral wrongs in your personal capacity, then what good are you?” Spears asked.

“If I’m not assured that you believe in this idea of America and that your oath to defend it is worth more than the air you exhale it with, how can I trust you as a military leader?”
