These military men have had enough

Two soldiers from The Old Guard and a Naval Aviator seem to be done with today’s progressive culture:

2 Fort Myer Soldiers Arrested and Charged with Stealing LGBTQ+ Pride Flags from House Beside Base (MIlitary.com, 6 FEB 24)
Two soldiers were arrested Friday and accused of stealing LGBTQ+ Pride flags at least three times from a house just outside the gates of Fort Myer, Virginia. Local authorities with Arlington County announced the arrest of Spc. Matthew Henshaw, 20, and Pfc. Joseph Digregorio, 23. Both soldiers are with the 3rd Infantry Regiment, known as The Old Guard, the Army’s premier ceremonial unit tasked with burials at Arlington National Cemetery. . . .

County prosecutors charge Navy reserve veteran with HATE CRIME for decapitating Iowa Satanic statue (NewsTarget, 5 FEB 24)
Polk County prosecutors charged a reserve U.S. Navy F-18 fighter and instructor pilot with a “hate crime” after he pushed over and beheaded the horned deity Baphomet monument in the Iowa Capitol on Dec. 14. He then discarded the head of the statue in the trash. . . . Cassidy also revealed that he didn’t immediately start ripping down the display. According to him, he first eyed the open doors near the statue and felt compelled to do something. “I don’t want to have the conversation with Jesus someday and have Him say, ‘Hey, there was this statue, and you knew it was wrong for it to be up there, but you were afraid of worldly things and worldly consequences, and you were ashamed of me and my opposition to the devil,” he argued. . . .

Navy vet charged with hate crime for smashing satanic statue in Iowa Capitol (Fox, 1 FEB 24)
Navy Reserve veteran Michael Cassidy received wide-spread support from conservatives and other notable figures after being charged with a hate crime for destroying a satanic statue that was erected at the Iowa state Capitol. Notable figures like Elon Musk and Chaya Raichik, creator of Libs of TikTok, came to Cassidy’s defense after news of him being charged broke on Tuesday. Many who spoke out in support of Cassidy, lamented how left-wing protesters, who destroyed and vandalized statues of American historical figures, didn’t face the same stiff penalties that Cassidy now faces. Local Iowa outlets reported that Polk County prosecutors accused Cassidy – who destroyed the statue in December – of violating the state’s hate crime statute and charged him.

From Michael Cassidy’s website:
I was born in Annapolis, Maryland, just outside the Naval Academy, and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. When I was in high school, terrorists attacked our nation on 9/11. One of my classmates had a father on American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon; I would see the smoking rubble every day on my school bus in the following months. I resolved then to join the military and serve my nation.

I was commissioned into the Navy in 2009 and after three years of flight school, including being stationed in Meridian for a year, I earned my Naval Aviator wings and moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia to become an F/A-18 Hornet pilot. After a tour which included a deployment on the USS George Washington I received orders to return to the Meridian area in 2016 as a T-45 instructor pilot. I spent the next 5 years as an instructor pilot before leaving active duty. I still fly for the Navy Reserves as an instructor pilot, and my civilian job is a maintenance test pilot for the T-45. I’m a Christian conservative who loves our nation and is committed to preserving the blessings of liberty bestowed upon us by the Founding generation.
