Maj. Gen. Paul Moga, USAFA ’95, is set to become the superintendent of the Air Force Academy after the U.S. Senate approved his appointment last week.
He will replace Lt. Gen. Tony Bauernfeind, who requested to retire early.
Moga will join a new dean and new commandant who also started this year, and met with the Air Force Academy’s Board of Visitors for the first time Monday.
Moga is currently commander of the 3rd Air Force at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and previously served as the commandant at the Air Force Academy from 2021 to 2023.
He has served as the first F-22 demonstration team commander and as the deputy director for operations at Northern Command.
Bauernfeind took command in August 2024, and his predecessor Gen. Richard Clark took command in September 2020.
