Former Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall, a West Point grad who is “left of Marx” according to one of his classmates, wrote an opinion piece in the New York Times calling the Commander-in-Chief “rogue” that was completely dismantled by retired Army lawyer Col. William A. Woodruff.
Now Kendall has another tone deaf opinion piece in the elitist DC Swamp’s Politico entitled, “The DEI Purge Will Weaken Our Military: Morale and recruiting will suffer while racist and sexist behavior will increase.”
Politico posted the article on X with the comment: “Opinion: The DEI purge will weaken our military, writes former Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall” and, well, Kendall was completely ratio’d. 99% of the comments were opposed to him. Can’t win. Hope he and Politico read the comments and Listen To The People.
Here are a few of them, with the first one ours:
“Morale and recruiting will suffer” by removing DEI? Nope. Here’s evidence that the divisive CRT/DEI agenda forced on the military hurt recruiting, retention and moral.”
“Affirmative Action and DEI undermine even the most qualified people by casting doubt on their merit. It’s time to eliminate DEI and focus on true colorblindness, where everyone is judged by the same standards. Merit, competence, and equal opportunity for all should be the cornerstone. Unity and commitment to the mission should be the priority.”
“I don’t see how meritocracy could possibly weaken the military.”
“Not even a little bit.”
“He’s a fing idiot. It will strengthen our military, not weaken it.”
“He’s wrong.”
“DEI is dead. No one is buying your BS any longer.🤡”
“Lol, not.”
“Politico, you made a typo. Here let me help. 🛠 🖋 🛠 “DEI weakens our military”
“DEI has no business in the military you freaking morons…”
“What a load of garbage! Mandating diversity of race, ethnicity, or gender (only two) has zero business in the military. It makes us weaker PERIOD! We want the best and the brightest PERIOD. Anything that stops this from happening needs to be banned, PERIOD!”
“The military should get rid of weak links. Each position has operational criteria. You either qualify and can perform those duties, or you can’t. No special concessions. Many DEI are putting others at risk. They have to go.”
“No, quite the opposite. Enlistment of qualified recruits is up and there is a new positive energy in our armed services. It’s a very good thing. 👍”
“That’s why he’s former not current. We’ve never had such a weak military, period.”
“The opposite is true.”
“No chance.”
“No. It literally won’t.”
“No it won’t. DEI is the placement of people by skin color or sexual orientation, if instead they are now placing people based on skills the military will definitely be better. Your opinion is basically “overlooking the best people for the job will make the military better” lol.”
“How does this author explain the major increase in recruitment?”
“Promises Made, Promises Kept. Ending DEI programs in the U.S. military will not hurt recruiting efforts, as evidenced by the strong enlistment numbers since President Trump took office. The Army’s best recruiting month in 15 years occurred in January 2025, with nearly 350 daily enlistments in December 2024, pushing it to 59% of its 61,000-recruit goal by early February. This surge, alongside gains in the Navy and Marines, aligns with the administration’s shift to a merit-based focus, appealing to the core demographic of young, often rural, recruits who prioritize mission readiness over social initiatives. By removing DEI, the military eliminates distractions, streamlining its appeal to those drawn to a unified, performance-driven force – proving that a back-to-basics approach can sustain, and even boost, recruiting success.”
“Yeah, right. Meritocracy is definitely not going to strengthen our military by only having THE best, THE brightest, THE most competent Americans fighting for us. 🙄 …btw, young people who want to fight for us should be encouraged to do better, be better, and work harder now that no one has advantages based upon immutable characteristics. #wiseup”
“Bullshit…no one wants to serve with freaks that think they’re a different gender.”
“Equity literally calls for actively discriminatingly against certain groups (generally white males) to make up for past discrimination. You think this increases moral in the military?”
“Our military needs soldiers who are ready to fight and defend at a moments notice. Period. Not gender, orientation or mental illness as a first priority.”
“Everyone knows that’s BS.”
“Naw… it won’t. DEI is racist. Hiring people based on anything but their abilities will result in lower performance. It is only common sense.”
“LOL, no one believes this…pure left wing fantasy.”
“Why does Politico have so little faith in black people?”
“So tired of your unfounded charges of racism and sexism. DEI is a rot and divisive money scam that must not ever be resurrected. We can have a strong and diverse military that treats everyone equally.”
“Yet, common sense says no it won’t.”
“Absolutely not, it will strengthen it. Evidence was after it was cancelled recruitment shot up.”
“Our military was strong before this BS. DEI is DEAD.”
Evidence that the DEI/CRT agenda in the military DOES hurt recruiting and retention
