James Atticus Bowden, a 1972 West Point graduate, gave a presentation on the “Long March of Cultural Marxism in America.” In it, he outlined the historical development of cultural Marxism and its impact on American institutions, beginning with contrasting the biblical worldview of the American Revolution with the French Revolution’s human secularist totalitarianism.
The presentation shows the historical roots of cultural conflicts in America to the present. Bowden talked about the importance of understanding the cultural shifts in America to effectively counter the Left’s advances and preserve the nation’s consensus culture, which he argued has been under threat since 1962. He emphasized the need to preserve the nation’s biblical worldview against encroaching secularist ideologies.
