President Trump has a new target: A Navy admiral who adores Anthony Fauci and hasn’t been fired for his prolific far-left social media posts.
The Navy sunk to new DEI depths under Biden. Once confirmed, the Navy Secretary has a mess to clean up—including eliminating woke officer promotion criteria and leftist senior leaders like Admiral Derek Trinque.
Shocking new documents reveal the Navy’s intent to promote officers who push DEI narratives.
They want leaders like Adm. Trinque, who made his far-left views widely known to the public and his subordinates, but wasn’t punished. He praised Anthony Fauci, Black Lives Matter, and the COVID mandate. He even pushed a false narrative about January 6th in an email to sailors.
When Trinque was in charge of the Navy personnel command in Tennessee, he recorded a video pushing the experimental COVID shot. Without any evidence, he told sailors the shot would protect them and their shipmates. He later praised Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin’s COVID shot mandate that violated civil liberties.
Trinque, promoted to Rear Admiral in 2023, was a big fan of Fauci. He wrote that Americans were getting a great value from his $417,608 per year salary.
Trinque also pushed COVID fearmongering, posting on social media that it was “horrible” families wanted to gather together for Thanksgiving dinner. He also liked the idea of punishing the public if they didn’t get a COVID shot.
He was also a mask nazi, repeatedly posting on the topic. When the Tennessee Governor ordered schools to get rid of masks, Trinque wasn’t happy.
He was also annoyed about people not properly wearing masks over their nose.
Trinque also ventured into the topic of so-called banned books. Parents have fought hard to stop adults from giving sexually explicit books to their minor children.
Yet, Trinque posted support for the Brooklyn Public Library’s “Books Unbanned” project—a dig at those concerned parents.
The Admiral posted profusely about his disdain for the south saying, “driving through the south can be depressing.” He also found it disturbing that there aren’t more women on the Supreme Court and emphasized “#RBG.”
Adm. Trinque is a big promoter of DEI, claiming diversity would “build cohesion.” He called for people to “disrupt” and “take action” and so far he has faced no consequences, only rewarded with promotions.
Uniform Code of Military Justice
The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) addresses the expected behavior of military officers to maintain “honor, integrity, and decorum” and prohibits “conduct that dishonors or embarrasses the military.” Defense department guidance related to social media use states:
Service members must also be careful not to comment, post, or link to material that violates the UCMJ or Service regulation. Examples include showing contempt for public officials . . . or posting unprofessional material that is prejudicial to good order and discipline . . . under the UCMJ.
Restoration News spoke with multiple senior retired military officers who were shocked by Trinque’s social media postings.
They asserted that his postings were inappropriate and emphasized that military leaders should be apolitical. Subordinates should not know a senior officer’s political views, much less be influenced or diminished by those views.
Adm. Trinque clearly exhibited repeated behavior that other officers regard as unbecoming. His leftist social media posts and emails to his sailors about January 6th could be offenses that deserve a court martial under UCMJ Article 133.
Trinque’s views may have been incentivized by the Navy’s own policies to promote senior officers who pushed DEI initiatives. He remains in a top-level leadership position at U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
The Navy’s DEI Promotions
Officer Precepts are documents used to guide decisions of Navy promotion boards that determine which officers get promoted. Current precepts from the former woke Navy Secretary, Carlos Del Toros, are the latest approved documents being used.
Shockingly the flag officer precepts still include potential negative consequences for refusing the experimental COVID shot.
These precepts also make certain to only promote flag officers who abide by the woke DEI agenda. The documents emphasize “cultural heritage” and claim “our differences give us the strength . . . to accomplish our mission.”
Guidance still includes language about gender identity and equitable (not equal) consideration. There is an emphasis throughout the document to consider people with diverse backgrounds “from every facet of society.” Not simply the best person for the job.
Navy Flag Officer precepts stamped August 2024 include a requirement for senior officers to “have shown the ability to successfully lead and mentor a diverse workforce, while executing the Navy’s strategic diversity initiatives.”
While those specific initiatives can’t be found anywhere in Navy documents, the precepts are clear: “consider for promotion those officers. . . that help improve the Navy’s gender and cultural awareness. . .”
The new nominees for Navy Secretary John Phelan, and Under Secretary Hung Cao, have a lot of work ahead to swab the deck of these woke military leaders and policies.
