The MacArthur Society had eight people attend the USMA BOV meeting on Monday, February 23, 2026 in Washington, DC. Congressman Womack has been the chairman for nine years, including during the woke Biden years where he did nothing to push back or stop the divisive Marxist CRT/DEI ideology that invaded the academy. Also unfortunate was that left-leaning Congressman Pat Ryan was elected the vice chairman of the USMA BOV. This means the ‘dog-and-pony-show’ will continue with no substantive work done like the USAFA BOV.
(Press Release) Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) was reelected today to serve as the Chairman of the West Point Board of Visitors (BOV).
The United States Military Academy at West Point BOV is charged with providing independent advice and recommendations on institutional matters, including morale and discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods, and other issues.
Congressman Womack said, “I am honored and privileged to be reelected as Chairman of the West Point Board of Visitors. Nothing inspires me more than seeing young men and women come to West Point and commit to the rigorous 47-month experience that develops them into officers of character in the greatest Army in the world. The cadets at West Point—including those from Arkansas’s Third District—are exceptional individuals who have chosen service over self, and ensuring their success strengthens our Army and our nation. I am thankful to my fellow Board members for this honor and the opportunity to continue serving alongside them.”
At today’s organizational meeting, board members received briefings on West Point’s academic, physical, and military priorities. Faculty led discussions on a wide range of topics, including developing leaders of character, branching and post assignments, the Sandhurst Military Skills Competition, the Summer Leaders Experience and cadet summer training, infrastructure updates, annual intellectual themes, athletics updates, and academic modernization to meet the demands of future warfare.
Womack was first appointed to the BOV in 2012 by Speaker John Boehner and subsequently elected BOV Chairman in 2017. He is currently the only congressional representative from Arkansas to serve on the board.
Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee.
