If you have doubts that Critical Pedagogy and Critical Race Theory indoctrination occurs at the U.S. Naval Academy, then simply look at the “how to” materials on those topics supplied to faculty on the USNA Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) website (https://www.usna.edu/CTL/Faculty_Resources/Diversity.php) and in particular the content of the 2019 Annual Conference on Teaching and Learning for USNA faculty found here (https://www.usna.edu/CTL/CTL_Archive/Conference2019.php).
Faculty facilitation and indoctrination in CRT and Critical Pedagogy continues in events like the CTL’s 2021 Pop-up Friday sessions on avoiding ‘implicit bias’ and ‘Equity at USNA.’
It is telling that the Dean for CTL includes this in her bio: “She has published extensively on pedagogy and faculty development as well as in the field of British Modernism and critical theory.”
It’s impossible to pretend that USNA is distancing itself from CRT and wokeness when it is training its faculty to be advocates. Assurances to the contrary from the USNA Superintendent at ’71’s recent 50th reunion briefing are uncompelling.
But then again, why should we be concerned if those who lead and will lead the Navy, and swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution, are being indoctrinated with an ideology that:
“…questions the very foundations of the liberal order, including equality theory, legal reasoning, Enlightenment rationalism, and neutral principles of constitutional law?”
Remember, that is a direct quote from Richard Delgado, co-founder of CRT, on the aims of CRT in his book Critical Race Theory.
