DOD Woke Agenda

The Left fired the first shot in the military’s culture war

By Hudson Crozier

In a speech on Thursday, President Joe Biden echoed the narrative that Republicans are bringing culture wars into Congress’ pending defense budget.

He specifically took a shot at Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) for blocking Defense Department nominations until Democrats give up on tax-funded travel for military members’ abortions.

“The Republican Party used to always support the military, but today, they’re undermining the military,” Biden said. “It’s time for the senator from Alabama to let these generals and admirals fully serve their country, and service members care for themselves and their families.”

“I urge Senate Republicans to do what they know is right, keep our country safe,” Biden added.

Many would agree that it’s time for the military to focus on its job, which is NOT to subsidize the killing of the unborn, promote transgender surgeries, or use taxpayer dollars for training materials about preferred pronouns.

These are all things that Biden and Democrats have crammed into the military’s agenda with increasing aggression.

The result has been a true undermining of the military.

Recruitment levels are in the tank.

The Army has lowered physical fitness standards for women, literally making itself weaker for diversity.

Biden’s Pentagon both allows and directly causes decline by prioritizing drag queens and lectures about “white rage” over important functions.

Polling has shown a sharp decline in public confidence in the military and that “woke practices” might be the leading cause.

All that Democrats have to do to avert the situation is hit the brakes on this agenda and revert the armed forces to what they have traditionally been.

But they are too committed to remaking the military in their image and will not accept it in any other form.

On abortion specifically, the Biden administration is so obsessive that it declared killing babies a “foundational sacred obligation” of the Defense Department.

Liberal media are correct to point out that the defense budget is usually bipartisan and often passed without incident.

That’s because it is not normal for the military to be chock-full of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” nonsense and force women to shower with men.

Democrats are holding up the budget over these priorities while ironically accusing conservatives of being obstructionist.

As in countless other areas of government and society, the Left fired the first shot in the military’s culture war.
