News and articles too short for a post or a bit out of our military lane:
In a DOD news article interview with the Director of the Defense Health Agency, Army Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland, the DOD reporter asked her to address the “intersectionality of her identity as a woman and an African American in the military. Where does a DOD employee learn a pure Marxist word like “intersectionality”?
To her credit, General Crosland said she doesn’t focus her achievements through that lens. “I don’t actually frame anything I do day-in and day-out in the terms of my race or my gender.”
Another liberal wakes up about DEI, part 1:
James Carville slams wokeness pushed by Democrats as a ‘giant, stupid argument,’ blames ‘preachy females’ (Fox News)
Democratic Party strategist James Carville railed against his party’s pursuit of wokeness, calling it a “giant, stupid argument” that will lead to more Democrat losses in the future.
He complained that ‘woke stuff is killing us,’ that the left was talking in a language that ordinary Americans did not understand, using terms like ‘Latinx’ and ‘communities of color,’ and with a tone many Americans found sneering. “There are a lot of people on the left that would rather lose and be pure because it makes them feel good, it makes them feel superior.”
Continuing to rail against woke attitudes, he said that “No one wants to live like this. Who ever thought it was a good idea to tell people you can’t hug them or you’ve got to be careful or you’ve got to think about names to call them other than the name you know them by? There’s nothing wrong with me being white or you being white or them being Black or me being male or you being female. It’s a giant, stupid argument.”
“A suspicion of mine is that there are too many preachy females,” he said, before characterizing them as killjoys. “‘Don’t drink beer. Don’t watch football. Don’t eat hamburgers. This is not good for you.’ The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. You’ve got to eat your peas.’”
Carville also slammed “elites” in the party and the media for ignoring male Democratic voters, stating, “If you listen to Democratic elites – NPR is my go-to place for that – the whole talk is about how women, and women of color, are going to decide this election. I’m like: ‘Well, 48 percent of the people that vote are males. Do you mind if they have some consideration?’”
Speaking of NPR, Another liberal wakes up about DEI, part 2:
An uber-Liberal editor at NPR who states his Left credentials: “an EV-driving, Wordle-playing, tote bag–carrying coastal elite. I’m Sarah Lawrence–educated, was raised by a lesbian peace activist mother, I drive a Subaru, and Spotify says my listening habits are most similar to people in Berkeley,” now realizes the DEI rot in his beloved NPR in a viral article making the rounds, “I’ve Been at NPR for 25 Years. Here’s How We Lost America’s Trust.”
Besides chronicling the one-sided bias, not covering stories if they helped the other side, and all the stories they got wrong because they followed the official “State is god” narrative, the events of 2020 pushed an already left-wing outfit over the top with DEI activist journalism that was even too much for him:
We were told that NPR itself was part of the problem. In confessional language he said the leaders of public media, “starting with me—must be aware of how we ourselves have benefited from white privilege in our careers. We must understand the unconscious bias we bring to our work and interactions. And we must commit ourselves—body and soul—to profound changes in ourselves and our institutions.”
He declared that diversity—on our staff and in our audience—was the overriding mission, the “North Star” of the organization.
Race and identity became paramount in nearly every aspect of the workplace. Journalists were required to ask everyone we interviewed their race, gender, and ethnicity (among other questions), and had to enter it in a centralized tracking system. We were given unconscious bias training sessions. A growing DEI staff offered regular meetings imploring us to “start talking about race.” Monthly dialogues were offered for “women of color” and “men of color.” Nonbinary people of color were included, too.
These initiatives, bolstered by a $1 million grant from the NPR Foundation, came from management, from the top down. Crucially, they were in sync culturally with what was happening at the grassroots—among producers, reporters, and other staffers. Most visible was a burgeoning number of employee resource (or affinity) groups based on identity.
They included MGIPOC (Marginalized Genders and Intersex People of Color mentorship program); Mi Gente (Latinx employees at NPR); NPR Noir (black employees at NPR); Southwest Asians and North Africans at NPR; Ummah (for Muslim-identifying employees); Women, Gender-Expansive, and Transgender People in Technology Throughout Public Media; Khevre (Jewish heritage and culture at NPR); and NPR Pride (LGBTQIA employees at NPR).
All this reflected a broader movement in the culture of people clustering together based on ideology or a characteristic of birth.
About that creepy “centralized tracking system”, here’s a screenshot:
New tool allows NPR to track source diversity in real time (Poynter)
Journalists across NPR are now tracking the demographics of their sources in real time thanks to a new piece of software that launched last month. Dubbed Dex (after “Rolodex”), the tool is attached to NPR’s content management system. For each story, reporters, producers, correspondents and editors submit information about their sources’ race and ethnicity, gender identity, geographic location and age range. . . . .
In addition to this creepy tracking, NPR also has a website of “diverse” sources reporters can contact. Here’s the listing if they want someone to talk about the military. Again, not much diversity of thought here.
If you are still listening to National Propaganda Radio, why?
BTW, this creepiness is in the military too: the US Air Force has a dashboard like this keeping daily track of its diversity. At the December DACODAI (SECDEF’s DEI advisory committee) meeting, it was mentioned that military people were tired of constantly filling out surveys of what race they identified with.
The More Americans Know About DEI, the More They Hate It (Rasmussen Reports)
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just 25% of American Adults think diversity, equity, and inclusion programs make companies better.
AMERICANS DON’T LIKE DEI (Powerline)
Among Americans who are Very Familiar with DEI, 51% say such policies are making companies worse.

Bill Maher rips govt for censoring ‘dissenting opinions’ about COVID-19 pandemic that were the ‘right ones’ (Fox News)
“Real Time” host Bill Maher ripped into the government, medical agencies and social media platforms for shutting down “dissenting opinions” on COVID-19 opinions. “As the years roll by now, we see that the dissenting opinions on a lot of these things were quite the right ones,” the HBO host said.
