New resource urges those who served to “report to vote,” fulfilling the oath to support and defend the Constitution
The Calvert Task Group (CTG), a nonpartisan association of primarily U.S. Naval Academy alumni and Navy veterans dedicated to restoring merit, standards, and warfighting excellence in the Navy, Marine Corps and service academies, today announced the launch of VeteransVote.us. The new initiative provides a clear, practical mission brief for veterans ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
VeteransVote.us opens with a direct order familiar to every service member: “You served once. Report to vote.”
It reminds visitors that the oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States does not expire when the uniform comes off.
The site then delivers a concise four-step plan to the ballot box: confirm registration (especially important after moves or recent separation), choose a voting method (mail, early, or Election Day), know state-specific ID requirements (noting that Veteran ID or military ID often qualifies), and bring a battle buddy so no one is left behind.
Additional sections emphasize voting one’s conscience by weighing candidates and measures against the Constitution rather than following the crowd, and the fundamental principle that government answers to “We the People.”
The site links exclusively to official, nonpartisan voting resources and a ready-to-copy message encourages veterans to text or email fellow shipmates tonight.
Why Veterans Must Vote
Policies that shape military readiness, recruitment, promotion standards, shipbuilding, and the culture of the force are set by elected officials. When identity politics displaces merit, when training time is diverted from warfighting skills, or when the all-volunteer force faces declining propensity to serve, the consequences fall first on those still in uniform and on the security of the nation.
Veterans understand better than most that the Constitution is not self-enforcing. It is sustained by citizens who exercise their authority at the ballot box.
Midterm elections determine control of Congress, statehouses, and the direction of defense and veterans’ policy for years. Sitting out does not preserve neutrality; it cedes the outcome to those who do vote. As the VeteransVote.us site notes,
“In this country, the people sit at the top of the chain of command. Your vote is how you give the order.”
CTG encourages every eligible veteran–regardless of party or prior politics–to treat November 3 the way they once treated a mission: confirm the facts, prepare thoroughly, and execute.
Check registration at vote.gov today, review the candidates and measures in your race against the Constitution, and bring a fellow veteran with you. For questions or to help spread the word, contact honor@calverttaskgroup.org.
About the Calvert Task Group
The Calvert Task Group was founded in 2021 by Naval Academy alumni, led by members of the Class of 1969, whose class motto is “Non Sibi” (“Not Self”). The group’s mission is to support and defend the Constitution, the Navy and Marine Corps, and the United States Naval Academy while rejecting the politicization of the armed forces through identity politics and divisive ideologies.
Members affirm the traditional Navy values of honor, courage, and commitment and insist on equal opportunity and merit-based advancement as essential to unit cohesion and combat effectiveness. They advocate for high standards and a focus on warfighting excellence.
Their work includes the book “Don’t Give Up the Ship: Woke Politics Are Endangering Our Military and Our Nation“, op-eds, policy engagement, and advocacy that has contributed to the restoration of merit-based admissions standards at the Naval Academy. Learn more at CalvertTaskGroup.org.
VeteransVote.us is a nonpartisan project that does not support or oppose any candidate or party. Election rules vary by state; always confirm details with official election offices.
