10 Objectives to be Pursued for the Country

By Lt Col Michael E. Uecker, USAF ret, USAFA ’71

Deputy Flight Captain, Order of Daedalians

When I retired from the Air Force in 1994, I hoped that I could just go home to my family, my farm and my dogs and horses, and be left alone to enjoy the fruits of my labors and savings.

In 2008, candidate Barack Obama promised to “fundamentally change” our Nation and NO ONE asked him what that meant.

However, what it meant to me was that I was obligated to return to public life to “protect and defend the Constitution” from those who, by their words and actions, declared themselves enemies of our way of life.

My work will not be finished until these 10 objectives are met:

1. Equal justice under the law returns,

2. Conservative Patriots realize that they have just as much at stake as the Liberal Marxists, and start acting like it,

3. The Churches use the pulpit to reestablish Christianity in the public square. As a Roman Catholic, I am ashamed of the lack of backbone in the Catholic Church, in particular.

4. A majority realize the wisdom of our Nation’s founding documents, and act upon that knowledge,

5. Private property rights are returned to its place of importance,

6. Government returns to policies that encourage and support a strong family unit, preferably one man and one woman, based on what worked for civilizations for over two thousand years,

7. Realizing that racial discrimination is wrong in all its forms, “wokeism” goes away, and we return to a meritocracy where all can get ahead based on their talent and their industry (never figured out how the NBA, NFL and MLB could tout DEI but field teams that are solely based on talent and hard work),

8. Parents receive the responsibility and authority to be in charge of and oversee the Education of their children. Monopolies do not work, and government schools are exquisite examples of that,

9. Governments are forced to spend no more than they take in and to live within their budget,

10. Finally, I hope that people are held responsible for their own actions. If you vandalize a property, even in a “mostly peaceful protest,” you pay restitution and maybe spend time in jail as well.

It amazes me that after all the conservative protests and gatherings I attended, we always left the place cleaner than when we arrived; however, that was not the case on 6 January 21. Maybe “some” of the protesters were there to stir up trouble. I believe so.

It is my hope that a majority of those reading this join in this effort in whatever capacity they are able.
