USAFA Cadet at Genderbread Person Training: "Why aren't we learning about China instead?"

STARRS heard there was a mandatory lecture at the US Air Force Academy that all cadets had to attend, given by two PHD psychologists, complete with “genderbread person” slides teaching you all that indeed there are more than two genders.

We asked a cadet about and here was the answer:

“It’s good to hear from you. Apologies for taking so long to respond. We finished Recognition yesterday but it might have been the worst one yet. Everything is considered a ‘training violation’ or ‘hazing’ so many feel we aren’t even pushing the doolies at all.

With the snowfall, we had to cancel Thursday and Friday’s plans so the 27ers finished Recognition without doing a single physical exercise. The upperclassmen are disappointed, to say the least.

I heard a cadet say she feels like they are making us weaker on purpose and that it seems like there is an enemy hiding in leadership. I asked her what if the enemy was an ideology, but she seemed confused by this.

In regards to the mandatory lecture, I went through what I think you are describing but I did so back in the fall. I remember thinking how weird and uncomfortable the whole training was so I wrote down notes afterwards. This is what I have gathered from asking around:

The cadet wing started doing a new thing this year called Enhanced Character and Development Time (ECDT) where about once a month we have a condensed class schedule to make time for a 1.5 hour block after lunch to be able to discuss different things.

Usually, we meet as a squadron in our SAR and talk about not being a bystander or what social currency is made up of. We split into small discussion groups and the 2 degrees are picked to be facilitators for this discussion (The facilitators would have met with the AOC the day before to prep for these discussions).

For our October ECTD, they asked us to do something different and were sent to Fairchild instead. It seems like they are rotating 5 squadrons through this special ECDT per month.

My specific facilitator (I think there are 4 or 5) was a teacher from the biology department named Katherine Bates and she had a cadet who was a biology major helping her.

She has been the Course Director of Genetics, Microbial Diversity, Microbiology, Developmental Biology, and co-teaches Human Sexuality. She is also the Director of Health Professions Advising and is responsible for advising and assisting cadets interested in the Air Force Medical Service.”

Why does the US Air Force Academy preparing our nation’s warfighters have a course on Human Sexuality??)

They said that this training was in response to General Clark’s “Let’s be Clear” campaign.

At first, it seemed like a high school Sex-Ed class and we went over male and female anatomy. Then they started talking about gender as a social construct and how it is different between various cultures.

She kept talking about people being intersex and how Transpeople are a result of there being a disconnect between what you believe vs what you are and we can choose to be whatever we want.

The cadets in the room did not agree with what she said and many asked good questions that she did not have answers for.

Some of the questions were:

1) “If gender is a choice how can we protect people in restrooms if anyone can just walk into another restroom?”

2) “If we aren’t allowed to assume someone’s pronouns before asking them, how are we supposed to greet them on the strips? Instead of “yes sir/ma’am” are we supposed to say “yes they”?

I also wrote down a list of things I heard Cadets say after the training:

1) “I don’t have time for this.”

2) “I’m just confused about all of this.”

3) “I need a quizlet for all of these terms.”

4) “No one took that seriously because it was a waste of time.”

5) “Why aren’t we learning about China instead?”

6) “I wish I just learned more about planes today.”

7) “I don’t know how this relates to sexual harassment.”

STARRS NOTE: The above “genderbread person” slide is from the internet, not the cadets, so don’t go after them. This silly slide is unfortunately used in many government DEI training for grown adults, which is an affront to them.

One of STARRS Board of Advisors, Dr. Lani Kass who served in the Department of Defense for 30 years, was the first woman Professor of Military Strategy and Operations at the National War College where she educated 20 generations of US and Allied senior-most military and national security leaders, served as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force and as Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had this reaction:

“This is worse than China during Mao’s Cultural Revolution. “Social currency”? Double secret probation? 🙄 Sex Ed in a Service school???

We’re indoctrinating the next generation of political commissars. It’s encouraging some Cadets still know right from wrong, but they’re young, impressionable, isolated, taught not to trust anyone and, thus, extremely vulnerable to incessant indoctrination. Peer pressure is immense, as we know. They’re exploiting youngsters’ natural desire to belong and conform.

If that was my child, I’d pull them out and sue for child abuse. Horrific!”

I recently got two calls from USAFA parents–one yesterday and one today sincerely thanking me for what STARRS is doing on this issue. One parent told me “the good thing here is ‘the majority of cadets are against this transgender ideological indoctrination.'”

We have shared this with USAFA leadership in the past as you know–sure wish they would “listen to their people”, if not us. Having the government “officially” preach this radical ‘social justice’ ideology (meant to upset everything ‘normal’ from what I have read about the transgender movement), and which many cadets and parents have told me is “against my religion” just seems so wrong.

It is certainly against the Catholic religion:

What business does our government have in pushing this truly radical left wing ideology upon the people who want to serve our nation–a calling which is supposed to be “apolitical?”

It seems really like a religion that everyone has to “buy into.” (Note the comment to a cadet shared in a previous email that “this was not open for discussion.” (There goes the First Amendment again.)

Where is the “inclusion” of those who are grounded in very different beliefs? And people (and unfortunately organizations like the USAFA AOG) just remain silent and let it happen and don’t engage and say “this is not what America is all about.” This is not making us a better nation.

And militarily? I think we know the Chinese and Russians are laughing at us. And when you look at how much Chinese money is funding the Transgender movement, apparently, one has to just wonder “what in the world has happened to our once great nation?” Lenin’s description of people who “go along to get along” is so apropos!

I just want to understand “why do we want to do these things that are so divisive that are obviously hurting our military?
