Dear Secretary Wormuth:
I watched your recent Congressional testimony with shock and dismay. It is clear to me that you are in absolute denial regarding the Army’s ongoing recruiting crisis, and I am writing now in hopes of penetrating the fog of delusion that apparently surrounds you and the Chief of Staff.
I come from a family with a long tradition of proud Army service, dating back to the Spanish-American War. I myself am a retired Army officer, having served in Desert Storm, OIF and OEF.
For generation after generation, we have served honorably and proudly, knowing that we were making a difference for America.
Today I do not have enlistment age children, but if I did I would be actively discouraging them from enlisting in any of America’s armed forces, and I do in fact actively discourage nephews, nieces and the children of friends from enlisting.
I can promise you that there are literally MILLIONS more veterans who feel exactly the same way I do and are similarly engaging in such discouragement.
I think it is important that you understand why this is.
Below are the reasons why generational Army families now tell their children to never enlist:
1. Warfighting, realistic training and the warrior ethos have all been made secondary to DEI initiatives and other suspect social engineering programs.
2. Poor equipment and training readiness ratings means we are building yet another Task Force Smith.
3. If a soldier is a white, heterosexual male, he can expect to be indoctrinated that he is inherently evil, and he will face active and purposeful discrimination in assignment and promotion opportunities.
4. America’s political leadership views the troops as mere political pawns, and whatever sacrifices those troops make on the battlefield and whatever gains they make in combat will be tossed away on a whim if it means more votes for the politicians. America’s disgraceful, disgusting, despicable withdrawal from Afghanistan is living proof of this.
You may not understand how this sickening abandonment tore open old wounds that millions of us bear, but we know.
I know from your testimony that you are oblivious to the reality I state above.
However, know that the millions of veterans who bear the scars of America’s forever wars feel exactly the same way I do.
I just described the root causes of your recruiting crisis. So what are you going to do about it?
Sincerely, COL(R) C.P.

Evidence that the DEI/CRT agenda in the military DOES hurt recruiting and retention
