New Book: No Surrender: The New Patriots in the Battle for America

Colleen Roberts, author of the new book No Surrender: The New Patriots in the Battle for America, wrote this letter to the STARRS Chairman of the Board, Lt. Gen. Rod Bishop:

Dear General Bishop,

It is my great honor and pleasure to send you a copy of my book No Surrender: The New Patriots in the Battle for America.

It is my contention that there is a war raging in America on many “fronts”. It is an assault on our history, our founding principles, our culture, our institutions, our Constitution and our freedom.

In essence, it is also a war against all patriotic citizens, our children and grandchildren.

The administrative state with its suffocating bureaucracy, hate America organizations with their Marxist agendas, the poisonous ideologies of DEI and CRT infiltrating our educational system and the U.S. military services, racial division—these are but a few of the critical problems facing our nation and the most obvious battlegrounds in this conflict.

Although American patriotism was on the rise immediately after September 11,2001, today it is disappearing and being replaced by citizen apathy and fear.

The qualities of courage and conviction that were embedded in the character of the first patriots who answered the call at Lexington and Concord in 1775 are needed today if we are to preserve our rights, our freedom and our country.

These same qualities are displayed by you and your colleagues in the STARRS organization.

Your ongoing campaign to bring to the attention of our elected representatives and the American public the devastating changes occurring at the nation’s service academies, and within the military generally, is in the finest tradition of Duty, Honor, and Country.

David Francis, West Point Class of 1962 who is profiled in this book, and others in the Long Gray Line, are exposing the transformative changes taking place at the USMA, the woke takeover of the academic curriculum and the destruction of the Honor System, to the detriment of our nation.

Other individuals in these interviews are standing up for America and defending our freedom in entirely different ways.

Whether through education, training Americans to be responsible citizens actively engaged in civic life, or on the radio exercising the right of free speech, each is setting an example for others to follow in their own lives.

They are the “New Patriots” of the book’s title.

There is a task for each of us in this fight, and I hope to inspire others to enlist in this effort and join their ranks.

With regard to the changing situation at West Point and the other service academies, I have done my utmost to be respectful and accurate in what I have written.

Some retired members of the military may have their own writing projects addressing this subject from an “insider’s” viewpoint.

It is up to them to write the definitive story of what is occurring within their respective service branches. As a civilian and concerned citizen, I have approached these chapters from that perspective.

Sincerely,
Colleen Roberts

Book Description:

What has happened to the patriotism and pride in America that citizens felt and displayed after our homeland was attacked on September 11, 2001? In the aftermath of that event, the outward signs of patriotism were everywhere. American flags were flown, chants of “USA-USA” were heard in communities across the country, at public ceremonies, and on the steps of the Capitol Building by members of both political parties. The American spirit of unity in times crisis was on full display.

In the years since, Americans have lost confidence in themselves and in their nation. American solidarity has fractured along political, ideological, cultural and racial lines. Citizens are losing their freedom due to the explosive growth of the administrative state and its massive bureaucracy. Intrusive mandates and regulations now control every aspect of our lives. What was once a free press is now just a propaganda organ for government policies. Anti-American organizations and social justice agitators funded by billionaires are creating deep racial division and societal chaos in the country.

Destructive ideologies such as Marxism and Critical Race Theory are transforming our educational system, our military services and American society as a whole. At the same time, our founding principles and the Constitution are also under assault. Many citizens have succumbed to the pernicious portrait of the United States as a racist nation and have come to believe the worst about their own country. The suppression of free speech and dissenting opinion have resulted, to a great extent, in an apathetic and fearful populace.

We are now in a battle to reclaim our country and our rights as free citizens. There can be no surrender in this fight. But “New Patriots” of courage are stepping up and taking action in their own ways to support America and oppose the effort to transform the nation. Here are their stories.

Like the original patriots, they are everyday people from different backgrounds. They believe in the promise of America and our founding principles of liberty, equality, opportunity and self-government. By their leadership they are demonstrating their commitment to their country and the preservation of our freedom. The author has suggestions as to how you can join them in this vital mission.

Available in Kindle now, paperback version in September.
