RestoretheMilitary.com exposes these woke Army generals and more.
We’ve exposed 13 senior Army Generals—so far—who don’t align with Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth’s goal of a merit-based, warrior-focused military. Three of these generals have either resigned or have been fired so far this year; the rest can now easily be identified at RestoretheMilitary.com.
The military needs to weed out senior military officers who push political and identity-based ideologies rather than merit-based policies.
While service members don’t relinquish their free speech rights, they’re not permitted to participate in partisan political activities. When senior officers publicly assert their political views—even if it isn’t a violation of law—it certainly influences and impacts those who serve under them.
Army Brigadier General Kareem Montague
Montague isn’t shy about sharing his political views on Facebook. He endorsed NFL anthem protests, saying: “News flash for the ‘stop politicizing my sports’ crowd, protests are supposed to be messy” and claimed Aunt Jemima maple syrup was racist.
Montague also advocated for “liberalism in the 20th century” calling it an ideology that supports things like workers’ rights and women’s rights that “we can all get behind.” In a video interview, he claimed “what makes the Army so strong is the diversity of the Army.” Perhaps most egregious, he claims white people have privilege and “systematic advantage.” Montague’s posts are still publicly available on his page at the time of this writing.
Montague currently serves as Deputy Commanding General for Interoperability, Land Forces and Operations Command, France. It’s hard to imagine that Montague’s biased views don’t impact his leadership decisions or how his troops perceive him.
Unfortunately, he’s certainly not the only senior Army officer to seek attention on social media.
Army Brigadier General Andrew Saslav
Saslav shared his radical leftist political views on Twitter in 2022. His retweets include calling for gun control and claiming the real border crisis in America is “the one separating church and state.” Saslav also retweeted “Trump is simply the worst America has to offer and is a danger to democracy.”
Saslav denied a religious exemption for a COVID shot to an Army Master Sergeant, even though the military chaplain recognized his sincere religious belief.
Saslav wrote: “I find that MSG Galey does not have a sincerely held religious belief, [sic] which is in opposition to receiving the vaccine” claiming the request was “motivated by misinformation and not based on beliefs. . .”
He also required soldiers to wear wristbands to indicate their vaccination status. Saslav claimed: “These wristbands are just one more tool keeping our training areas, our Soldiers, Families and support staff safe.”
General Saslav is currently the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, G3, U.S. Army Europe and Africa. It’s disturbing that Saslav remains in command, especially after calling his now Commander in Chief a danger to democracy.
Army Reserve Brigadier General Cindy M. Saladin-Muhammed
Muhammed is a prolific social media user and many of her posts are still public even though she hasn’t used her X account in many years.
It’s ironic because in 2013, Muhammed posted on Facebook a reminder to her audience that “someone is always watching and listening to you.” Her social media pages are now available for the world to see.
Here is her post in 2015 expressing displeasure with a “Mexican Wall.”
Another disturbing post in 2011 by Muhammad:
“I need a hug, I want sex, but I’ll take a hug or a snickers bar,” is another post attributed to General Muhammad. All of these postings and more can be seen on General Muhammed’s page on RestoreTheMilitary.com.
Muhammed wrote her dissertation on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and claimed an organization “should focus DEI efforts on the needs of a diverse team, given the existing research that shows that organizational diversity influences organizational dynamics and performance.” Yet her studies did not provide any proof that DEI efforts improve an organization.
Muhammad’s Facebook page clearly indicates she is a military officer, reveals photos of her in uniform, and publicly declares her rank and command position. Muhammed currently serves as the Deputy Commanding General of the 807th Medical Command.
A Violation of Defense Department Rules?
Military officers walk a fine line when they assert their political views on social media. While they are permitted to have personal social media accounts, there are limitations to use.
The Defense Department established new rules for social media use in 2022 and updated them in February 2025. The rules include ensuring that all personal social media accounts are clearly identified as personal accounts and to avoid the use of Defense Department “titles, insignia, uniforms, or symbols in a way that could imply DoD sanction of endorsement of the content.” Personal accounts should include a disclaimer that disassociates the content from that of the Defense Department.
Some of these senior officers highlighted on RestoreTheMilitary.com have not posted these social media disclaimers. Even if they have, publicly claiming your political views for the world to see undermines troop unity and morale.
Senior officers like these generals should portray a high standard of conduct. They set the tone for how their troops should behave. The Biden administration should never have rewarded such divisive activities. It’s time for Sec. Hegseth to cut the tentacles of woke senior leaders and remove them from the military.
