Efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion—or DEI—in military academies have met with opposing views.
Some are condoning the move because it fosters military enrollment by minorities, while others allege it is a destructive political ideology that is weakening the U.S. military.
To learn more about the impact of this initiative, NTD-TV spoke with retired Lt. Cmdr. Steven Rogers, a 25-year Navy veteran.
Among the things he says: the DEI agenda in the service academies is not only a distraction but has also been divisive and destructive.
When he was in the military, they didn’t need diversity training because he and others learned early on from their families to respect everyone. He never saw any type of discrimination in his 25 years in the Navy. Sailors instead were trained to be a cohesive team.
